Join us again this year, as we explore the practice of yoga and celebrate the light of the Summer Solstice amidst the unspoiled, natural beauty that is the Nicoya Peninsula in Costa Rica.
Re-treat [ree-treet]
-a place of privacy or safety. A refuge. Shelter.
-a period of group withdrawal for prayer, meditation, study, instruction.
A retreat is an INVITATION to plunge into your yoga practice. To leave your day to day habits and patterns behind and dive into the heart of these practices; to return to a deeper sense of who we really are; to strengthen our connection to ourselves and to everything around us. A retreat is one of the greatest gives we can give ourselves.Through our daily practices of yoga asana, meditaton, pranayama and chanting, we will dive in and explore the depths of our own hearts.
This year we return to Florblanca, the jewel of the Nicoya Peninsula. Situated right on the unspoiled Pacific coastline, Florblanca is an award winning, luxury resort, that blends open air living with the comfort of a 5-star property. We will practice to the sound of the surf in a Yoga Dojo that has one wall open to the dramatic coastline and surrounding jungle. We will eat fresh, healthy, locally grown food and freshly caught fish. We will swim in the sea, or surf the renowned Santa Teresa coastline. We will recharge, explore, laugh, sweat, learn and rejuvenate. There is a beautiful infinity pool, a juice bar, and a full service, award winning spa. Take full advantage of the many excursions offered or just enjoy watching the monkeys swing through the trees from your hammock.
This year, my friends Lily Cushman and Jeremy Frindel are joining us to lead us each night into the ocean of the heart through the practice of kirtan: the call and response chanting of the Name. Through this letting go into the music and mantras, we can return to our very essence: an ocean of awareness, love, compassion and bliss. Each night after dinner, we will return to the Yoga Dojo to chant — a beautiful way to end a beautiful day.
